After logged on to EC-link website, the message “Alternate HTML content should be placed here. This content requires the Adobe Flash Player.” appears on webpage, what should I do?



You are required to install correct version of Adobe Flash Player on the browser. Please refer to"Hardware and Software Requirements for EC-link" for detail.

During downloading Excel report from EC-link website, message “To help protect your security, Internet Explorer blocked this site from downloading files to your computer. Click here for options...” appears in the Internet Explorer ‘s Information Bar, what should I do?

 
The is a security warning message to alert you Internet Explorer would try to download a file from a website and allow you to verify that the file is needed. You are required to trust the file download action before downloading it from EC-link website by either one of the following method in order for the download function to work properly:
i)
Temporarily trust the file download action
1.
Click on the Internet Explorer Information Bar, and then click “Download File...”
2.
Download the required file again. (Internet Explorer would trust any file download action from EC-link website in the current logon session.)
ii)
Permanently turn off the security alert from warning file download in Internet Explorer Information Bar
1.
Open Internet Explorer.
2.
Click the [Tools] button, and then click [Internet Options].
3.
Click the [Security] tab, and then click [Custom level].
4.
Do one or both of the following:
-
To turn off the Information bar for file downloads, scroll to the [Downloads] section of the list, and then, under [Automatic prompting for file downloads], click [Enable].

To turn off the Information bar for ActiveX controls, scroll to the [ActiveX controls and plug-ins] section of the list, and then, under [Automatic prompting for ActiveX controls], click [Enable].
5.
Click [OK], click [Yes] to confirm that you want to make the change, and then click [OK] again.

During printing PDF file from EC-link website, “Pop-up blocked. To see this pop-up or additional options, click here… “appears in the Internet Explorer ‘s Information Bar, what should I do?

 
Pop-up blocker has been enabled in your Internet Explorer to block EC-link website from opening a pop-up windows. You are required to allow pop-up windows from EC-link website in your Internet Explorer by either one of the following methods in order for printing PDF file to work properly:
i)
Allow pop-up windows to open from EC-link website
1.
Open Internet Explorer.
2.
Click the [Tools] button, and then click [Internet Options].
3.
Click the [Privacy] tab, click [Settings] under the [Pop-up Blocker] section.
4.
Type EC-link website address (main.hkecic-eclink.com) in the [Address of Web site to allow] box, and then click Add.
5.
Click [Close] and then click [OK].
ii)
Turn-off Pop-up Blocker by changing [Privacy] setting in Internet Explorer
1.
Open Internet Explorer.
2.
Click the [Tools] button, and then click [Internet Options].
3.
Click the [Privacy] tab, under the [Pop-up Blocker] section, clear the check box for [Turn on Pop-up Blocker].
4.
Click [Apply] and the click [OK].
iii)
Turn-off Pop-up Blocker by changing [Security] setting in Internet Explorer
1.
Open Internet Explorer.
2.
Click the [Tools] button, and then click [Internet Options].
3.
Click the [Security] tab, and then click [Custom level].
4.
Scroll to the [Miscellaneous] section of the list, and then, under [Use Pop-up Blocker], click [Disable].
5.
Click [OK], click [Yes] to confirm that you want to make the change, and then click [OK] again.

During clicking on the Print button in EC-link website to print PDF file, Internet Explorer has no any response. What should I do?

 Please ensure that there is no any pop-up blocker installed on your browser, e.g. Google Toolbar, Yahoo Toolbar, MSN Toolbar, etc. Generally, a label called "blocked" with a blocked number near by this label appears on the toolbar. When pop-up windows has been blocked by the toolbar, the number will be incremented.

During downloading Excel report from EC-link website, error message “Internet Explorer cannot download file from server. Internet Explorer was not able to open this Internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later.” appears. In addition, during printing PDF file from EC-link website, “Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage “ appears in the webpage. What should I do?

 
“Saving encrypted pages to disk” function had been disabled in Internet Explorer. You may enable this function by the following steps:
1.
Open Internet Explorer.
2.
Click the [Tools] button, and then click [Internet Options].
3.
Click the [Advanced] tab.
4.
Scroll to the [Security] section of the list, clear the check box for [Do not save encrypted pages to disk].
5.
Click [Apply], and then click [OK].

Excel report is downloaded from EC-link website to my computer drive. However, the content of the report shows only some text like the computer coding and is not readable. What should I do?

You are required to open the Excel report downloaded from EC-link website by Microsoft Excel 2003 or above, or the free Microsoft Excel Viewer 2003 or above. Please refer to “Hardware and Software Requirements for EC-link” for detail.
If your Microsoft Excel version is below 2003, you may install “Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack” to open Excel report downloaded from EC-link website. Please refer to the following steps to open this Excel report by “Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack”.
1.
Download the required installation file “FileFormatConverters.exe” from the below website and then install the program.
2.
Save the excel report downloaded from EC-link website into your computer drive (e.g. eclink_report.xls)
3.
From the File Explorer, right-click the saved Excel report and then select “Save As...”
4.
Select the format “Microsoft Office Excel 2007 Workbook (*.xlsx)”
5.
Save the Excel report into a new file and then click “Yes” when the following message appears. Excel report will be converted successfully to a format readable by Excel 2003 version below.
6.
Double click on the new xlsx format file to open this file.(e.g. eclink_report.xlsx)
